ONGUMA’S SPECIAL WILDLIFE RANGERS

 

On the Eastern border of Etosha National Park in Northern Namibia sits Onguma Nature Reserve. Having experienced an increase in rhino poaching over the last few years, Onguma’s newly assembled anti-poaching unit are now patrolling the reserve 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Enclave spoke to Onguma’s Reserve Manager Jonathan Strijbis about the threats facing wildlife in Namibia and were invited on a patrol with Onguma’s Special Wildlife Rangers to experience what life is like on the ground.
